Toshiba’s Compact N-Channel MOSFETs Perfect for Tight Spaces
Toshiba Electronics has come out with a new series of n-channel MOSFETs designed specifically for use in cars, using their U-Mos VIII-H process technology. The models XPN3R804NC and XPN7R104NC are rated for 40V, whereas the XPN6R706NC and XPN12006NC can handle up to 60V. These MOSFETs feature very low on-resistance, with the XPN3R804NC going as low as 3.8mΩ at 10V, and they also have minimal leakage current.
They come in surface-mount TSon Advance packages, which helps save space on the circuit board. These packages typically measure 3.3 by 3.6mm, making them a good replacement for larger 5 by 6mm devices. The inclusion of wettable flank terminals makes assembly and automated optical inspection easier.
These MOSFETs meet the AEC-Q101 standard, ensuring they are suitable for use in automotive settings. Their compact size is an advantage for reducing the size of vehicle electronic control units (ECUs). They can also be used in other applications like switching regulators, DC-DC converters, and motor drivers.
