Mouser Triumphs in a Stunning FIA Rebellion Victory
The Rebellion Racing team, sponsored by Mouser Electronics, clinched the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship. The star of the show, the No. 13 R-One car, dominated the LMP1 privateer class and put up a stellar performance at the season finale, the Six Hours of Bahrain.
Matheo Tuscher, Dominik Kraihamer, and Alexandre Imperatori, the drivers of car No. 13, amassed 193 points, finishing 84 points ahead of their closest competitor. Meanwhile, the team’s No. 12 car secured third place in the privateer class with 104 points. Rebellion Racing took an early lead in the season and maintained their dominance with 11 consecutive wins over two seasons, securing the 2016 LMP1 Privateer trophy.
“The Rebellion team had an unbelievable season,” said Todd McAtee, vice president at Mouser Electronics. “We are very proud to have sponsored Rebellion as they delivered solid performances on some of the world’s toughest tracks.”
Mouser teamed up with Lemo, a supplier of high-quality connectors, to sponsor Rebellion Racing for the 2016 season. Mouser distributes Lemo’s products, which include push-pull circular connectors and module connectors.
“Sponsoring Rebellion Racing is a perfect fit for us,” McAtee added. “Just as Rebellion excels on the track, Mouser prides itself on distributing the latest, high-quality electronic components from our manufacturer partners like Lemo. We are committed to providing fast and accurate deliveries with top-notch customer service.”
Throughout the 2016 FIA WEC season, Rebellion Racing won eight out of nine races in the LMP1 privateer class, achieved two overall podium finishes, and claimed victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, along with eight pole positions.
This victory marks Rebellion’s fifth consecutive FIA WEC endurance trophy for private LMP1 teams. After competing in 22 races since 2014, the Rebellion R-One cars will soon be retired to the museum. The team is now setting its sights on the 2017 season, focusing on the updated LMP2 category, with plans to race two newly ordered Oreca 07 LMP2 cars.
