McLaren Transforms Data Analytics with Alteryx
McLaren Racing has teamed up with Alteryx to use analytics automation and data science for quicker decision-making and improved performance in Formula One.
This multi-year partnership will help McLaren Racing leverage Alteryx’s advanced analytics to gain faster insights, enhance efficiency, and boost performance through intelligent automation.
“Data drives both performance and business insights, but using Alteryx’s analytic automation allows McLaren to turn data into discoveries and decisions in minutes,” said Mark Anderson, CEO of Alteryx. “Our user-friendly and smart automation will significantly enhance the team’s ability to manage complex data and extract powerful insights needed for top race speeds.”
In the high-stakes world of F1 racing, where speed and performance are paramount, McLaren depends on data-driven insights to gain a competitive edge in all areas, from parts manufacturing and logistics to engaging with fans. Alteryx’s platform offers an easy-to-use, automation-first approach to analytics and data science, which is critical for these operations.
An average F1 car consists of over 25,000 parts and components. With real-time analytics automation and modeling, McLaren can optimize manufacturing processes and cut costs, making the planning and production of cars more efficient.
Transporting heavy freight, equipment, and car parts for race weekends is both complex and expensive. By utilizing Alteryx’s geospatial analytics and automating business processes, McLaren can reduce risks and ensure the right parts and vehicles reach the correct teams on time, optimizing processes and timelines.
Fan engagement plays a crucial role in the technical world of F1. To strengthen the connection between fans, the brand, drivers, and the team, McLaren is using automated behavioral and sentiment analysis to enhance fan interaction throughout the race calendar.
To keep up with the fast pace of racing, McLaren is also improving its critical finance processes through analytics automation, generating actionable insights to maximize data value while reducing costs and increasing efficiencies.
“In racing, we constantly seek to improve our performance,” said Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “Partnering with Alteryx changes how we collect and analyze data, allowing us to make faster decisions through intelligent analytics automation. We are excited to work with Alteryx to drive efficiencies for the 2021 season and beyond.”
As part of this partnership, the Alteryx brand will be visible on McLaren MCL35M race cars, the race suits of drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, the McLaren pit crew fire suits, and across the team’s social media and digital platforms.
