Isuzu Rolls Out Advanced Here Navigation on Australian Trucks
Isuzu Trucks has integrated Here’s navigation technology into their in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems for the 2022 models of their F, FX, and FY series trucks sold in Australia. This new system enhances fleet operations by providing drivers with real-time navigation using up-to-date location data and technology.
The integration is designed to meet the demands highlighted in Isuzu’s “Future of Trucking” report, which shows that fleet operators are looking for improved safety and business efficiency from their equipment. The new trucks, equipped with Here Navigation, offer drivers access to the most current maps, live traffic updates, and suggested routes through mobile data linked to their smartphones.
These features are accessible via Isuzu’s MyIsuzu Co-Pilot IVI platform, which aims to provide drivers with on-the-go guidance for safe and efficient driving.
Grant Cooper, Isuzu’s chief of strategy, noted that “Here Navigation offers the flexibility and agility needed to provide one of the most interactive and intuitive navigation experiences available. Accurate maps and location data ensure our operators have the latest route and navigation information. Isuzu aims to be adaptable and offer our customers tailored data to meet their specific business needs, and Here Navigation allows us to achieve this innovatively.”
Daniel Antonello, the general manager for Australia and New Zealand at Here Technologies, highlighted that the Australian truck and road transport industry is evolving rapidly, especially due to the pandemic. With an expected increase in road freight demand, leveraging top-tier location technology is essential for ensuring safe and efficient driving. Antonello expressed pride in supporting Isuzu as they enhance their product offerings and strengthen their leadership in Australia’s truck market.
