Innovative Collaboration: 3DTracking and CareDrive Unite to Revolutionize Driver Monitoring
3DTracking, a telematics company, is teaming up with CareDrive, a supplier of vehicle and driver safety equipment, to offer telematics services that integrate driver fatigue and distraction monitoring. Their collaboration combines CareDrive’s MR688 device with 3DTracking’s telematics platform.
The MR688 device uses advanced technology to detect when a driver is tired or distracted. It is equipped with high-quality image sensors and powerful processors to analyze images and determine if a driver is not paying attention, whether due to drowsiness or distraction. This device works in all lighting and weather conditions, even if the driver is wearing sunglasses.
The MR688 can pick up on various distraction events, such as when drivers are not looking at the road, fiddling with audio or navigation systems, or chatting with passengers for too long. If the device detects any fatigue or distraction, it sounds an alarm to alert the driver.
Simultaneously, the device takes a picture of the situation and sends the image along with the time, date, and location details to 3DTracking’s platform. This platform allows fleet managers to see a complete view of the incident and take appropriate action, such as sending an alert or conducting an investigation.
This integration becomes part of the 3DTracking platform’s overall driver behavior monitoring features. Telematics service providers can use this to offer specialized driver fatigue and distraction monitoring services or add it to their existing driver behavior monitoring packages.
CareDrive’s CEO, Lanny Cao, highlighted that their partnership with 3DTracking expands their market reach and enhances the value offered to customers. Noam Cimand, general manager of 3DTracking, mentioned that this new feature adds significant value to their software platform and has already been adopted by several fleet management customers in various industries, including cargo logistics and heavy machinery.
