Geely Integrates Mobileye ADAS into High-End Electric Vehicles
Geely Auto’s Lynk & Co has unveiled an impressive new electric vehicle that features advanced driver-assist technology from Intel subsidiary Mobileye. The Lynk & Co Zero Concept EV, introduced in collaboration with the Beijing Auto Show, incorporates Lynk & Co’s CoPilot system, which is powered by Mobileye’s SuperVision surround-view technology and supports over-the-air (OTA) updates.
By using Mobileye’s ready-to-go SuperVision system, based on the EyeQ5 system-on-chip (SoC) and leveraging Geely’s production strengths, the company aims to offer advanced driver-assist features starting in autumn 2021.
An Conghui, CEO of Geely Auto Group, remarked, “We launched the Lynk & Co brand in 2016 to provide a premium experience to global customers. We’ve delivered over 300,000 units so far. In our next growth phase, our partnership with Mobileye will help us offer a new, unparalleled driving experience. The Lynk & Co CoPilot system, powered by Mobileye’s SuperVision technology, will deliver cutting-edge vision-based driver assistance, positioning the Zero Concept as a top-tier vehicle in terms of driver-assist capabilities.”
This collaboration is set against a backdrop of increasing demand for electric vehicles and safer, cleaner transportation options worldwide. Mobileye CEO Amnon Shashua added, “Our partnership with Geely is transformative for the automotive industry, introducing our leading surround-vision technology in one of the most sophisticated driver-assistance systems. We’re excited to help Geely offer Lynk & Co drivers advanced driver aids and safety features, including highway pilot and traffic-jam assist, all made better with Mobileye’s SuperVision system and OTA updates.”
Geely and Mobileye’s scalable CoPilot system uses surround-view cameras and advanced navigation technologies powered by two EyeQ5 SoCs, enhancing safety in a variety of driving scenarios.
Alongside the high-level driver assistance for the Zero Concept EV, Geely and Mobileye have also agreed to equip numerous other Geely Auto models with Mobileye’s vision-sensing technology, further emphasizing their commitment to safety with features like automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist.
