VW Set to Unveil Groundbreaking Mobility Vision at CES

Volkswagen is set to reveal its vision for the future of mobility at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month. The company describes this future as one filled with smart connectivity and eco-friendly vehicles.

At CES 2017, Volkswagen will showcase how people, cars, and their environments can be interconnected. Volkmar Tanneberger, head of electrical and electronic development at Volkswagen, explained, “With App Connect, our customers can already link almost any smartphone to their vehicle. But with the Volkswagen User-ID, we’re taking this to a whole new level. By seamlessly integrating partner services with our own online services, we’re creating a completely new user experience.”

Volkswagen will also introduce new display and control concepts in Las Vegas, building on previous systems like the Golf R Touch and Budd-e presented at earlier CES events. Additionally, Volkswagen will debut its ID electric vehicle in the U.S. for the first time. This concept car, based on the MEB modular electric drive kit, combines a digitally networked world with an electric vehicle that can be fully automated if desired, featuring an innovative control system.

CES is one of the largest consumer electronics trade shows globally, showcasing the latest products and services in the sector and highlighting trends in digital technology and innovative electronic developments.
