McLaren Expands its Formula One Alliance with Arrow Electronics

McLaren Racing just announced they’ve extended their partnership with Arrow Electronics for several more years. This collaboration, which started in 2019, is rooted in their shared commitment to using technology and innovation to make life better. Together, McLaren and Arrow aim to bring their services to both their teams and larger networks.

A standout moment this year was Arrow’s involvement in the Ventilator Challenge UK, a group rallying to produce more ventilators during the global coronavirus crisis. Arrow leveraged its expertise in component sourcing and supply chain management to help McLaren and the consortium manufacture and deliver over 13,000 ventilators in just ten weeks—a feat equivalent to ten years’ worth of production.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, expressed his excitement about the extended partnership. He highlighted that both companies are driven by innovation and technology, not just in motorsport but in improving everyday life. According to Brown, Arrow continues to impress with its innovative spirit, mirroring McLaren’s own approach.

Moving forward, the Arrow Electronics logo will still feature on McLaren’s Formula One cars and on the team’s 2021 drivers, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. This is part of a comprehensive activation program similar to the one they have for IndyCar with Arrow McLaren SP.

Victor Gao, Arrow Electronics’ Chief Marketing Officer, is enthusiastic about deepening their relationship with McLaren. He emphasized their joint belief in the power of technology and the human spirit to enhance daily life.

McLaren Racing has a rich history, founded by New Zealand driver Bruce McLaren in 1963. Since their first F1 race in 1966, they’ve secured 20 Formula One world championships, over 180 F1 Grand Prix wins, a Le Mans 24 Hours victory on their first try, and three Indianapolis 500 wins. In the 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship, McLaren competes with drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, and in the USA’s IndyCar series with Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist.

Arrow Electronics supports over 175,000 technology manufacturers and service providers, with 2019 sales hitting $29 billion. They focus on developing technology that enhances business operations and everyday life.
