Tata Inks Landmark Multi-Year Partnership with Formula One

Tata Communications is once again teaming up with Formula One as the official broadcast connectivity provider in a multi-year agreement, aiming to deliver an advanced technology experience for fans worldwide.

Tata will offer comprehensive managed network services for video sharing, revolutionizing the motorsports viewing experience. This service involves transferring over 100 video feeds and 250 audio channels between the race venue and F1’s media center in the UK in under 200 milliseconds, allowing Formula One to reach more than 500 million fans in over 180 countries.

This partnership will elevate global broadcast content production for Formula One, supporting the sport’s goals of agility and sustainability. Since introducing remote broadcast operations in 2020, Tata Communications has helped reduce Formula One’s traveling freight by 34%.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula One, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to have Tata Communications back as a partner. They’ve played a crucial role in our growth over the past decade, and we trust their expertise to deliver for our fans. Their connectivity solutions support our goals for agility and sustainability, particularly with remote production since 2020, aligning with our aim to be net-zero carbon by 2030. We look forward to continuing our journey together.”

Amur Lakshminarayanan, CEO of Tata Communications, added: “As businesses shift to a digital-first model, the sports world can also leverage technology to create exciting new experiences for fans. Formula One epitomizes speed, action, and thrill. We’re delighted to renew our partnership and drive innovations for Formula One’s future.”

Tata is continuously enhancing its digital media and entertainment services, providing an all-encompassing platform for engaging fan experiences. The company has also increased its media backbone capacity to 100G, driving innovations in video and remote production.
